FTA: Content Maintenance Procedures - Tariff Schedule vs. FTA Legal Text/Rule Text Updates
Tariff schedules typically update more frequently than the FTA rules of origin, i.e., HS number 3402.20 being reclassified as 3402.50, for example. In the following table, you can see where the current HS Tariff schedule reflects that 3402.20 is no longer an available tariff classification, but the current version of the rules has yet to be updated. This is not unusual. When this happens, we work with our clients using Customs' best practices/guidelines to create a rule configured locally on their partner to handle this scenario using the new HS number.
