FTZ Management: Preparation - Inventory Status Change (Transaction Change)

The
Inventory Status Change
screen can be used to create the necessary transactions to update the current inventory from “
N
” status to “P” status. You will assign these transactions to their own Status Change 214. When this status change 214 is transmitted to CBP, a status change will be transmitted for each underlying admission that these transactions were originally admitted on. If your company has been configured to use the
Inventory Status Change
screen, it will appear in the Preparation menu.
note
This screen cannot be used for anything other than the process described above. It will not update the duty rate or any other values aside from changing the StatusCode of the layers selected.
  1. Once the screen is loaded, decide whether to target the inventory by ProductNum or HTSIndex.
  2. Select the appropriate radio button.
  3. Once a
    Filter Field
has been selected, the ProductNum or HTSIndex will be entered to target the intended inventory. This can be done by entering it in the
    Filter Value

  4. The
    Filter
link will refresh the screen to show results similar to the below.
  5. Once the information that needs to be converted has been confirmed, specify the Destination:
    1. Staging
      - The transactions will be moved to Stating, provided the transactions have not already been staged for the day.
    2. Production
      - The transactions will be inserted into the current processing run, provided the transactions have already been staged for the day.
  6. Next, review the line items in the grid to determine which row should be updated. Once the row has been specified, click its corresponding Add Change Transactions link on the far left.
  7. To open an additional section, click

A
Spreadsheet Upload
option also exists to load
Status Code
changes en-masse.
  1. In order to leverage the spreadsheet upload functionality, filter to show results on the grid as instructed above.
  2. Once the results are populated in the grid, click on
    Extract Current Results
to export the results into a spreadsheet.
  3. Once exported, open up the spreadsheet in order to make applicable edits.
  4. Update the StatusCode column of the layers for which
    Status Change
transaction should be created for to “P”, and alter the TxnQty as needed.
    note
If the entire layer should be converted, you can type “100%” into the TxnQty field and the system will create Status Change 214 for the entire layer. If only a portion of the layer should be updated, you can type in the TxnQty in numeric format of the quantity needing to convert.
  5. Once updates are completed, save the spreadsheet and click on “Import” to upload into the system. The user will be prompted to confirm whether the Status Change transactions should be uploaded into Staging or Production.
  6. Check the applicable Radio dial, click the “Choose File” option to find the applicable spreadsheet, and finally select “Upload and Import Data” to load into the system.
Import Transaction Changes
Once uploaded, you will receive a success message:
If there are any issues encountered during the upload, a separate error message notifying the user will display:
Common issues seen on upload are listed below:
  • StatusCode is not valid, should be P for a Status Code change
  • TxnQty is not a numeric value or “100%”
  • TxnQty is greater than available on-hand inventory for matching ProductNum/HTSIndex combination
