Type Ahead
To reduce the amount of manual data entry a user has to perform, ONESOURCE ISF makes use of the “
Type Ahead
” feature in multiple areas.Examples of the use of the “Type Ahead” feature are shown below. However, please note that these examples are not all-inclusive and the “Type Ahead” feature is used throughout the entire ISF system.
Type Ahead (Product Number)
When entering items into the Security Filing record, users can take advantage of the “Type Ahead” feature if their company uses Global Classification or Foreign-Trade Zone Management to store product information.
To utilize this feature,
click
on the “Product Number” field (located in the “Items” tab). Begin entering
a product number or word included in the product description. A list of the most closely matched items will appear beneath the field.Once the product is located,
select
the product from the list of items. The fields will populate based on the data stored for that item.
Type Ahead (Manufacturer/Supplier)
The Type Ahead feature also exists for the “Manufacturer/Supplier” field (located in the “Items” tab). These values are derived from the list of parties available to indicated partners marked as a “Manufacturer” Party Type.
To
add
a party to the Security Filing, click
on the “Manufacturer/Supplier” field and begin typing
the party name. Once the party appears within the drop-down, select
the party.
To
add
new parties to the Parties database from the “Items” tab of the “Edit Security Filing” screen, click
“Add New Party”.
Type Ahead: Country of Origin
The
Type Ahead
feature also exists for the “Country of Origin” field (located in the “Items” tab).To
add
a Country of Origin to the Security Filing, click
on the “Country of Origin” field and begin typing
the country name or two-character ISO Country Code. Once the country appears within the drop-down, select
the country.
Products Added to “Items” Tab
Once a product is added to the “Items” tab of the “Edit Security Filing” screen, it will appear in a grid list of items.
To allow for quick searches on long item lists, all data columns (Product Number, Product Description, HS Number, etc.) can be sorted by
clicking
the column header at the top of the grid.The “
Select All
” column header can be used to select
all Security Filings at once instead of handling the filings one at a time. Entries are also time-stamped by user for security purposes.
