Set up tax areas

The firm administrator (or staff member with security permission to add and edit firm information) should set up tax areas that represent state and local taxes by combining taxing authorities into a single entry. Set up taxing authorities before tax areas.
To set up a tax area:
  1. Go to
    Setup
    Taxes
    Tax Areas
    .
  2. Select
    Add
    .
  3. Enter a unique description in the
    Description
    .
  4. In the Taxing Authority information grid, use the dropdown list to select the taxing authorities. Enter 1 per line.
  5. Select
    Enter
    to save your changes.
