Relink report elements after a template update

Relink report elements after a template update changes a Shared Report Element in the source financial period.
A template update doesn't automatically update linked report elements in target financial periods. After a template update changes a
Shared Report Element
, OSR creates a
Pending Template Update
 state in each target financial period that contains a linked copy. OSR pauses updates and shows the
Relink
 option.
  1. Apply the template update to the source financial period.
  2. Update the Shared Report Element in the source financial period.
    For example, update the report element from XYZ to ABC and update the template version from V1 to V2.
  3. Open the affected target financial period.
  4. Locate the linked report element.
  5. Select the ellipsis on the linked report element.
  6. Select
    Relink
    .
  7. Verify the relink action.
    1. OSR syncs the source report element and the linked report element, then removes the
      Relink
       indicator.
  8. Restore a source backup to revert the source report element.
  9. Select
    Relink
     in the target financial period to apply the restored source state to the linked report element.
  10. Relink after a template update deletes a report element.
    1. Delete a report element through a template update to remove it from the source immediately.
    2. Then use
      Relink
       in the target financial period to delete the linked copy and remove the link.
