Share report element

The
Share Report Element
lets you share a report element from 1 reporting entity and create a linked copy in another reporting entity. When you update the source element, it automatically reflects the change in all linked copies.

What is
Share Report Element
?

The
Share Report Element
lets you share a report element from 1 reporting entity — the source. It then creates a linked copy in another reporting entity — the target. When you update the source element, ONESOURCE Statutory Reporting (OSR) automatically syncs the change across all linked copies.
note
Use
Share Report Element
only with reporting entities. Don't use this element with organization templates.

When to use the element

Use the
Share Report Element
when:
  • You want to finalize accounts without applying a template update that could introduce unintended changes during a critical stage.
  • You want to maintain similar wording across entities that use different organization templates. Us this when a common template update is impractical.
The
Share Report Element
helps maintain specific content across entities without applying a full template update.
important
Manage changes to disclosures, wording, notes, and policies that apply across multiple reporting entities through organization templates whenever possible.
  • Don't use
    Share Report Elements
as a substitute for organization template updates or to merge multiple reports.
  • Limit the number of linked report elements. Linking numerous amounts of report elements can adversely affect performance.
