Fujitsu scanner setup

Fujitsu FI-7160 and 7260 scanner set up with PaperStream Capture 2.5.0

PaperStream Capture can be used to create PDF or TIFF files of your client’s source documents to be uploaded to SurePrep.

Select drivers

Complete the installation of PaperStream IP drivers. Then follow these instructions to select the driver:
  1. Open PaperStream Capture. Select the
    Menu
     icon and then select
    Administrative Tool
    . Select Administrative Tool
  2. On the
    General
     tab, select
    ISIS
     in the
    Driver Type
    . Select ISIS
    note
    If you don’t have the ISIS driver, you can download it from:http://imagescanner.fujitsu.com/global/dl/
  3. On the
    Usability
     tab, select
    Single
     under
    Click Mode
    . Select Single

Configure profile

  1. Select the Menu icon and then select
    Configure Profile
    . Select Configure Profile
  2. Select
    +
     to create a new profile. Select the +
  3. If you have a profile created already and want to edit it, mouse over the profile and then select the
    Edit
     icon. Select the Edit icon
  4. Name
     tab will be auto-selected when you configure the profile. Enter the following settings:
    • Name
      : SurePrep Profile
    • Description
      : B&W -300 dpi
    • Icon
      : Black & White
    • Hot Key
      : None
    • Priority
      : None
    Configure your settings in the Name tab
  5. Select the
    Source
     tab, change the following settings:
    • Source
      : PaperStream IP fi-7160
    Change your settings in the Source tab
  6. Select
    Scanner Driver Profile
    and select
    Edit
    . Select Edit
  7. A PaperStream IP (ISIS) window will appear, select the
    Preference
     icon. Select the Preference icon
  8. On the
    Configuration
     window, select the
    General tab
    . On
    Default dialog
     select
    Normal Dialog
     and then select
    OK
    . Select OK
  9. Select the
    Basic
     tab, and then set the following settings:
    • Image Mode
      : Black and White Update the settings in the Image Mode tab
    • Paper Source
      : Feeder (Both Sides) Update the settings in the Paper Source tab
    • Resolution
      : 300 dpi. Update the Resolution settings
    • Paper Size
      : Scanner’s Maximum Update the Paper Size settings
    • Carrier Sheet
      : Off Update the Carrier Sheet settings
    • Front/Back Merging
      : Off Update the Front-Back Merging settings
  10. Select the
    Image
     tab, and then set the following settings:
    • Black & White Method
      : Dynamic Threshold (iDTC) Update the Black & White Method settings
    • Tone Adjustment
      : Defaulted to Disabled. Update the Tone Adjustment settings
    • Cleanup
      : On
    • Character Thickness
      : 0 (Zero)
    • Character Augmentation
      : 0 (Zero)
    • Noise Removal
      : 0 (Zero)
    • Background Pattern Removal
      : 2
    • The White Level Follower
      : Automatic. Update the White Level Follower settings to Automatic
    • Vertical Streaks reduction
      : Off Update the Vertical Streaks reduction settings
    • Dropout color
      : White Update the Dropout Color settings
    • Inverted Image
      : Off Update the Inverted Image settings
  11. Select the
    Page
     tab, and then set the following settings:
    • Cropping
      : Automatic Size
      • Output Size
        : Margin
      • Priority
        : Speed
      Update the settings in the Page tab
    • Split Image
      : Off Update the Split Image settings
    • Rotation
      : Automatic Update the Rotation settings
    • Edge Correction
      :
      • Edge Repair
        : On
      • Edge Filter
        : On
      • Fill Color
        : White
      Update the Error Correction settings
    • Hole Punch Removal
      : On
      • Fill Color
        : White
      • Mode
        : Standard
      Update the Hole Punch Removal settings
    • Blank Page Detection
      : On
      • Image Output
        : Do not output
      • Content Sensitivity
        : 0 (Zero)
      • Target Pages
        : All Pages
      Update the Blank Page Detection settings

      Note
      : The higher the sensitivity, the more likely that the pages will be detected as blank.
  12. Select the
    Paper Feeding
     tab, and then set the following settings:
    • Multifeed Detection
      : Do not Detect
      Update the Multifeed Detection settings
    • Paper Protection
      : On
      Paper Protection
    • Pre-Pick
      : On
      Update the Pre-Pick settings

      Note
      : Enabling the Pre-Pick shortens the interval between scanning each document.
  13. Select the
    Batch
     tab, and then set the following settings:
    • Assisted Scan
      : Off
      Update the Assisted Scan settings
    • Continuous Scan
      : Off
      Update the Continuous Scan settings
    • Job Control
      : Off
      Update the Job Control settings
    • Path Code Detection
      : Off
      Update the Patch Code Detection settings
    • Barcode Detection
      : Off
      Update the Barcode Detection settings
  14. Select the
    Endorser
     tab, and then set the following settings:
    • Digital Endorser
      : Off
      Update the Digital Endorser settings
  15. Select the
    Output
     tab, and then set the following settings:
    • Statistic Information
      : Off
      • Display
        : Off
      • Save
        : Off
    Update the Output settings
  16. Once you have set all the settings, select the
    Save
     icon on the toolbar to create a profile. Select Save
  17. The
    Save Profile
     window will appear. Enter
    SurePrep Profile
     in the
    Description
     field and select
    OK
    . The profile will be saved as SurePrep, select
    OK
    .
  18. Select the
    Destination
     tab, change the following settings:
    • Destination
      : Folder
    • File Properties
      : PDF File (*.pdf)
    • Compression
      : Follow software-deter
    • Folder
      : Select the location where you want to save the PDF file
    • File
      : <EDITSTR>
    Update the Destination tab settings
  19. Select the
    Meta Data
     tab, no changes required. Update the Meta Data tab settings
  20. Select the
    Separation
     tab, no changes required. Update the Separation tab settings
  21. Select
    Save
     and then
    Close
     from the bottom of the screen. Select Save then Close
The SurePrep profile is ready to use. Now place the paper in the scanner’s feeder and select
SurePrep Profile
 to scan the pages.
Select the SurePrep Profile
You will see samples for scanned pages. Select the checkbox on the page(s) and select
Complete Batch
.
Select Complete Batch
You'll get a warning message about the batch being released. Select
Yes
 to continue and release the pages.
Enter the name of the PDF file under
Optional Character string
 and then select
OK
.
Update the PDF name in the Optional Character string field
Please go to the folder path and check the PDF file.

: To select all pages at once select
Ctrl + A
 from your keyboard.
