Custom Note Type

When adding a note in SPbinder, you can define notes into specific categories. You can either select SurePrep's predefined categories or create custom notes for your firm.
Example: If your firm frequently adds notes in a binder about information pending from clients, then you can add a new custom note category called "Pending" specifically to specify these notes in their own category. Reviewers and Preparers can quickly scan notes based on categories that are relevant to them.
To configure a custom note Type, go to 
Admin
SPbinder 
Custom Note Type
.
Select Admin, SPbinder , then Custom Note Type

Add a Custom Note

You can add a custom note type in addition to the predefined note types available in SPbinder. These note types will be displayed in the SPbinder
Notes
 tab.
Follow these steps to add a custom note type:
  1. Select the New Note Type icon
    New Note Type
     button to add a new custom note.
  2. A blank row will be created. Enter the name of the new
    Note Type
    .
    Enter the new note type
    You can't leave the
    Note Type
     input field blank, or the following message will be displayed:
    Warning the the entry is required
    You can't use SurePrep predefined note types, or the following message will be displayed:
    Warning that you can't add a default category
    note
    SurePrep predefined note types (General, Missing Item, Permanent, Review) are already available in the SPbinder Notes tab.
  3. Select the 
    Save
    icon Save icon, to save a new note type. Select the
    Cancel
    icon Cancel icon to close the field without saving any changes.
    Select Save or Cancel
  4. The
    Created By
    and
    Created On
    columns will be auto-populated with user sign in details and the system date and time.

  5. The new note added in the
    Custom Note Type
    window will be displayed in the notes
    Type
    dropdown menu of the SPbinder.
    Select the note type

Edit a Custom Note

Follow these steps to edit a custom note type:
  1. Select the
    Edit
    icon and make the required changes.
    Select the Edit icon
  2. After editing the note type, select the
    Save
    icon to save the changes.
  3. The
    Modified By
     and
    Modified On
     columns will be auto-populated with the user sign in details and the system date and time.

Delete a Custom Note

To delete a particular custom note type, select the
Delete
icon.
Select the Delete icon

Clear Filter

The Clear Filter icon button removes all filters that have been either applied on individual columns or when the search option has been used.

The
Clear Filter
button turns on when the filters are applied on columns, or when the Search box is used for searching a specific row. Otherwise, it remains inactive or grayed out.

Search

Use the Search box box to search for data. The search functionality only applies to the
Note Type
 column under the 
Custom Note Type
tab.

Export Custom Note Type to Excel

Export to Excel
button enables you to export the data from the
Custom Note Type
 tab to an Excel file.
Select Export to Excel
If you want specific data to be exported, use the search and/or filter functionality on individual columns Filter icon, then select
Export to Excel
.

Clear the filter if you want all results to be exported.
