Get HEX code for Custom Styling

A HEX color code is a 6-digit code used to identify a color. Using a HEX color code lets you use the same color each time without seeing any discrepancies. HEX color code can be used for Custom Styling TaxCaddy colors in accordance with your firm's branding policy.

If your firm doesn’t have a color branding policy, or you don't know the HEX code then you can follow these steps to get the HEX code from your logo or a screenshot. You can use Microsoft Paint 3D on Windows 10 or greater (recommended) or add a third-party Chrome extension.

Microsoft Paint 3D

If you have Microsoft Windows 10 or greater, then you can use Microsoft Paint 3D to get the HEX code. If Paint 3D is not pre-installed, then you can install it for free from Microsoft Store.
Follow these steps to get HEX code from Paint 3D:
On the
Start
menu, open
Paint 3D

Browse Files

Paint 3D
Select your logo or a screenshot you would like to use to get the color code.
Select Open

To take a screenshot, press
PrtScn
on your keyboard, open Microsoft Paint 3D, then press
Ctrl
+
V
to paste the screenshot.
Select the
Eyedropper
tool Eyedropper tool on the right panel to pick the color.
Point the cursor to a spot Cursor icon on the image, then select to select that color.

On the right panel, select the color box next to the
Eyedropper

Edit Color
window, copy the text in the
Hex
field.

If you are unable to use Microsoft Paint 3D on Windows then you can add a third-party extension from the Chrome Web Store to select colors from your website or image.

Go to Chrome Web Store, find the ColorPick Eyedropper extension, then select

Once the extension is installed, select the extension icon on the toolbar.
