How do I set up user permissions?
With user groups, you can set users as part of groups then specify permissions to assign to all users in those groups.
note
You’ll need to be designated as
Firm System Administrator
to setup user group permissions. From the
Admin
screen, select Users
then User Group Management
.
You’ll find 6 user groups created by default. The
Firm System Administrator
group has full rights. We recommend you leave those as they are. By default, all 5 of the other user groups have only Allow access to the FileRoom
and Grant access to SurePrep Support
marked. We recommend you leave those alone as well.In addition to those defaults, here are a few simple settings we think work well for most firms.
- SelectBillingfor theFirm Partnergroup.
- SelectNotesfor both theFirm ManagerandFirm Reviewergroups.
You’re free to customize your User Group Permissions however you see fit, but we think the minor adjustments to the defaults described above will work well for most firms.
