User management overview

Create new users

Each person at your firm who uses SurePrep services (like FileRoom, SPbinder, TaxCaddy, Reviewer Dashboard) at your organization needs an account. In
Account Admin
, you can create a firm user account for anyone who will be accessing SurePrep services as a tax professional.
Follow these steps to create new users. 
  1. Go to
    FileRoom
    ,
    Admin
    ,
    Users
    , then
    User Management
    .
  2. Select
    New User
    . A new line appears.
  3. Under
    User Name
    , enter a user name for the new user. This is the user name that the user will use to sign in to FileRoom.
  4. Under
    First Name
    , type the user's first name.
  5. Under
    Last Name
    , type the user's last name.
  6. Under
    Email ID
    , enter the user's email address. We’ll send the FileRoom account activation to this email address. If you see an
    Enter valid email address
     message, ensure the email address includes only alphanumeric, numeric, and special characters like
    @ .
  7. Select the location for this user, then select
    Save
     under
    Office Location
    .
  8. With
    User Group
    , you can control access to different features across SurePrep. You can assign different access and permissions for each user group based on their role in your organization. Under
    User Group
    , select the user groups for this user, then select
    Save
    .
  9. If your firm uses single sign-on (SSO), you will see an additional column, 
    SSO Mapped ID
    . Provide your email address or another field that IDP can provide here.
  10. Select
    Save
     to create the new user. The system sends an activation email to them.
  11. A success message appears.
    After you create an account, the user will receive an invite email. The user will need to access their invite and create an account within 120 hours before it expires.

What's next?

After adding the new user, they’ll get an invitation sent to their email address within a few minutes from
NOREPLY@sureprep.com
. Request the user to select the link and set up their account.
