Remove Smart Links (document retrieval accounts)

Smart Links with document retrieval accounts create a link between TaxCaddy and your financial institution, allowing TaxCaddy to retrieve documents directly from your financial institution the moment they're added (and will periodically check for updates depending on the time of year) to save you from uploading your documents yourself.

TaxCaddy.com on PC, Mac, or tablet
Follow these steps to remove a Smart Link to a document retrieval account using TaxCaddy.com on your PC, Mac, or tablet.
  1. Log in to TaxCaddy.com.
  2. Select the
    User Menu
    , then select
    Smart Links
    .
    note
    You can also access Smart Links from Settings.
    Select Smart Links from the user menu
  3. Select
    REMOVE THIS ACCOUNT
    .
    Select REMOVE THIS ACCOUNT
  4. Select
    YES
    to delete this Smart Link. Select
    CANCEL
     to exit without removing the Smart Link.
    Select YES to remove the Smart Link
    note
    If a linked account is removed, you would need to link the account again in order for TaxCaddy to import any new tax documents.
  5. You will see a notification appear on your screen notifying you that the Smart Link has been removed.

iOS mobile app
Follow these steps to remove a Smart Link on your iPhone mobile phone app.
  1. Log in to the TaxCaddy mobile app.
  2. Select
    Smart Links
     to open the Smart Links section.

    You can also access Smart Links from Settings.
    Select the Smart Links tile from the Overview screen
  3. The
    Smart Links
     screen will show a list of all Smart Links. Select the Smart Link you want to remove, then select
    REMOVE ACCOUNT
     to remove the Smart Link.
    Select REMOVE ACCOUNT
  4. TaxCaddy asks if you are sure you want to delete this account. Select
    YES
    .
    Select YES to confirm the Smart Link deletion
    note
    If a linked account is removed, you would need to link the account again in order for TaxCaddy to import any new tax documents.
Android mobile app
Follow these steps to remove a Smart Link on your iPhone mobile phone app.
  1. Log in to the TaxCaddy mobile app.
  2. Select
    Smart Links
     to open the Smart Links section. You can also select the green badge to open the list of added Smart Links.

    You can also access Smart Links from Settings.
    Select Smart Links from the Overview screen
  3. The
    Smart Links
     screen will show a list of all your Smart Links. Select the Smart Link you would like to remove.

    REMOVE SMART LINK
     from the options provided.
    Select REMOVE SMART LINK
  5. On the
    Remove Smart Link
     window, select
    YES
    .
    Select YES to confirm the deletion
