View and download documents

The Document Viewer lets you view documents inside TaxCaddy.
TaxCaddy.com on PC, Mac, or tablet
Follow these steps to view a document in the Document Viewer using TaxCaddy.com on your PC, Mac, or tablet.
  1. Sign in to TaxCaddy.com
  2. Select
    Documents
    .
    Select Documents from the navigation bar
  3. Select the tax year.
    Select a tax year from the TAX YEAR
  4. Skip this step if the
    TAX RETURN
     menu is not available. If you have multiple tax return profiles, select the tax return profile with the documents you want to view and download.

  5. Select the document you want to view.
    Select an uploaded document
  6. The document opens in the Document Viewer panel. To download the document, select
    DOWNLOAD
    .
    Select DOWNLOAD
    You can message your tax professional regarding this document using the message panel. Your message is automatically associated with the document and also accessible in
    Messages
    .
    Enter your message then select SEND
  7. When you're done viewing the document, select
    UPLOADED DOCUMENTS
     to go back.
    Select UPLOAD DOCUMENTS
  8. You can also download documents directly from the
    Uploaded Documents
     tab. Mark the checkbox next to each document you want to download.
    Select the checkbox for the document you would like to download
    To bulk download all uploaded documents, use
    Select All
     to select all uploaded documents.
    Select a category checkbox to download all of its documents
  9. The total file size will be displayed at the top. You can only download 1 GB of files at a time. If there is more than 1 GB of files in an account, you'll need to download in multiple selections. Select
    DOWNLOAD
     to bulk download all selected documents.

Downloading without Annotations
  1. Select the
    Menu
     icon on the document tile.
    Select the document menu
  2. Select
    Download
    .
    Select Download
  3. Select
    Download Without Annotations
     in the
    Downloading Document
     window.
    Select Download Without Annotations
iOS mobile app
Follow these steps to view a document in the document viewer using the iPhone mobile phone app.
  1. Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app, then select the
    Documents
     icon at the bottom.
    Select Documents from the navigation bar
  2. If your tax professional has enabled 1041 tax return profiles on your account for trust/estate, select the
    Tax Return
     dropdown to select the tax return profile.
    Select from the Tax Return dropdown
  3. Select the
    Requested
     or
    Uploaded
     tab.

  4. Select the document you want to view.
    Select the uploaded document
  5. The document will open in the Document Viewer.

    You can message your tax professional regarding this document by selecting the message icon on the top bar. Your message is automatically associated with the document and also accessible in Messages.

  6. To download a document, select the
    Menu
    icon on an uploaded document.
    Select the menu icon from the document viewer
  7. Select
    Share
    .
    Select Share
    Select
    Save to Files
     to save the document on your device.
Android mobile app
Follow these steps to view a document in the document viewer using the Android mobile phone app.
  1. Sign in to the TaxCaddy mobile app then select the
    Menu
     icon.
    Select the Android Menu icon
  2. Select
    Tax Documents
    .
    Select Tax Documents
  3. If your tax professional has enabled 1041 tax return profiles on your account for trust/estate, select the tax return profile from the
    Tax Return
     dropdown.
    Select a tax return from the TAX RETURN dropdown
  4. If you want to view a tax document that you've uploaded, select
    Uploaded
    .
    Select the UPLOADED tab
  5. Select the document you want to view. The document opens in the document viewer.

    You can message your tax professional regarding this document by selecting the message icon on the top bar. Your message is automatically associated with the document and also accessible in Messages.

  6. To download a document, select the
    Menu
    icon on an uploaded document.
  7. Select
    Share
    , then a service to save to (for example, Google Drive or Dropbox).
    Select Share
