UltraTax CS review tools and features help you check for accuracy while you enter client data and review them before filing.
Ensure accuracy as you prepare returns
- The Tax Subject Index
helps you find where to enter specific information in input screens and forms. - Tick marks
let you visually identify information at various stages of the completion process. - Field notes
let you add details about information entered (or not entered) in a particular field. - Client notes
let you save notes for a specific client. If you're licensed for Fixed Assets CS, FileCabinet CS, or Practice CS, you can view the client note created in UltraTax CS and create new notes for the client from within those applications. - You can also attach text to a form to document the decisions or calculations behind a form.
- If you entered information in a field in the prior-year but not this year, UltraTax CS marks the field with blue chevrons to alert you that data may be missing.
- Watch fields help you monitor important values on client's tax forms. You can review these in theWatchtab of the federal Diagnostics window. You can also freeze the Watch tab to make it easier to track changes to watched fields.
- If you've enabled notifications for overruled data, UltraTax CS displays red chevrons on input screen fields where you have entered your own amount and replaced a transferred value. You can right-click those fields to acknowledge the overruled amount or delete it and restore the original transferred value.
Review completed returns
- The Return Summary shows key amounts on the return so you can make sure that everything is as expected.
- UltraTax CS has diagnostic messages that warn you of incorrect data you need to fix or additional information you need to enter.
- You can preview the return before you electronically file the return, print the return, or deliver the return to your client electronically.
