Export data to UltraTax CS
After you prepare a client's binder, export the data to sync all captured and updated information back to UltraTax CS. Before you export, make sure the tax return is closed in UltraTax CS.
For SurePrep Outsource binders, don't use this feature to export data; the information in this article doesn’t apply to Outsource binders. You must restore the tax return file instead.
important
Any data entered in your UltraTax CS file after uploading the return in SurePrep will be overridden on completion of the Export process.
- To export from SPbinder:
- Select theExport to Tax Softwareicon
from the SPbinder toolbar. Alternatively, select .
- To export from FileRoom:
- Find the binder in the list.
- Select thePicklisticon
in the Optionscolumn. - SelectExport to Taxfrom the dropdown menu.
- If you haven't already set up the export path, do it now:
- In theExport to UltraTax CSwindow, selectSetup.
- Select a path from a dropdown that has been set up in .noteYou may need to selectUltraTax CSif you have more than one location set up for different tax years or different offices.
- SelectOK.
- SelectProceedto export the data to UltraTax CS.
- Once complete, open UltraTax CS to view the exported data. Wait 1 minute after you export, then open the client's tax return in UltraTax CS. If the client's tax return is already open, then close and reopen the tax return to complete the import process in the tax software. After you export the data to UltraTax CS, you will not be able to add additional documents until you open the tax return in UltraTax CS.
Exported SurePrep Data Delays in UltraTax (Applicable for the latest version of UltraTax)
If you are experiencing delays in SurePrep data exporting to UltraTax CS, please confirm you are on the latest version of UltraTax CS. Once confirmed:
- Open UltraTax.
- Navigate toHelp>Repair.
- Select theClientstab.
- Choose the appropriate client and selectRequest SurePrep datato manually initiate retrieval.
