Introduction to AI change management for law schools

AI change management helps a law school move from how it operates today to a future where AI is part of teaching, practice, and administration, and this toolkit puts a modern spin on a traditional change management model.  Previous frameworks assume an organization is moving toward one fixed future state, but as AI keeps advancing, any predefined end state would be outdated before a school reached it.

At the same time, law schools are also loosely coupled organizations in which tenured faculty hold autonomy to protect their academic freedom.  As a result, top-down mandates rarely succeed.

‍

With AI, the only constant is change. Therefore, the real work is building the institutional muscle to keep adapting. Law school faculty, students, staff, employers, and alumni move through the arc of change in parallel and on their own timelines.  The AI change management toolkit is designed to strengthen a law school's ability to respond as each group does.
