Before you upgrade

This article will serve as a central resource for ONESOURCE customers upgrading from the legacy authentication process to a new simplified sign-in experience. We've worked hard to reduce the number of usernames and passwords you need to use our products. We encourage you and your firm’s administrators to visit this resource for up-to-date news and required action steps for a successful transition.

What is it

A Thomson Reuters Account gives all users, including staff and clients, a single account to access Thomson Reuters products. You can access ONESOURCE applications with 1 email address and password in addition to any other products currently using the Thomson Reuters Account.
As a result of all Thomson Reuters products moving to a standard sign-in process, you might notice that your sign-in screens and other security options within the user interface have changed or no longer apply.

How can we prepare for the upcoming changes

  1. : The new Thomson Reuters Account supports enhanced security with two-factor authentication. If enabled, it can use biometric sensors, common authenticator apps, SMS, or voice. Only the Auth0 Guardian app supports easy-to-use push notification directly to your phone’s home screen. The app is free on the Apple App Store and on Google Play for Android.
    Federated Single Sign-On (SSO)
: If your company has deployed Federated SSO, the Auth0 Guardian App isn't a requirement for your users.
    Bypass SSO
: The functionality remains the same, although your URL or link may change.
  2. Learn more about the Thomson Reuters Account
    .
  3. If you currently use SSO, you'll need to make sure you're set up to use an email address instead of an Employee ID or Network ID. Contact professional services or the Thomson Reuters SSO team with any questions or for help with compatibility.
  4. Review the list of users and make sure you've marked any bot or inactive users. Take time to update any incorrect or invalid email addresses.
  5. Test the migration with a few users.
  6. Flag a batch of users for migration.
  7. Run reports and monitor upgrade compliance.
  8. After all active users complete the upgrade, select the
    Fully Migrated
    toggle.
