FTZ Management: ABI Entry Filing and Weekly Entry Overview

When running an FTZ, the importer must file an entry with US Customs to report goods leaving the zone into US Commerce. This can be filed either through a broker, or directly with US Customs via the ABI-Entry filing module.
The following section will explain the ABI-Entry filing module in detail.

Weekly Entry Steps: General Process

The general process steps for weekly entry filing using ACH Debit payments are as follows:
  • The CF3461 weekly estimate is submitted to CBP.
  • CBP accepts the CF3461 weekly estimate.
  • Goods are shipped from the Foreign-Trade Zone throughout and reported on the weekly CF7501 at the end of the week.
  • The filer receives a preliminary statement from CBP.
  • The filer transmits ACH payment authorization.
  • Final statements are received from CBP as payment receipt.
The following sections within this chapter elaborate on the screens that assist with this process.
