Perchance to Dream: Lawyering & the Wellness Imperative
Transforming Women’s Leadership in the Law, Legal Executive Institute
Professionals in the legal industry continue to face a myriad of challenges when it comes to their individual health and wellbeing. Studies in this arena point to continuing issues like alcohol and substance abuse, depression and poor work/life balance. Given the high-stress environment facing most lawyers, such issues seem par for the course. In contemplating such challenges, those in leadership must also consider how much productivity—and, by extension, profitability—is lost when lawyers fail to account for their health. This session examines the growing trend amongst law firm leadership in adopting wellness initiatives and the realized benefits of holistic programs over one-dimensional solutions. Our panelists will also discuss how such programs can be an effective (and measurable) business development strategy.
