Original electronic file information for filing corrected 1099s

Do the following to correct a previously accepted electronic 1099 file:
  1. To access the window, select
    Actions
    , then
    Edit Payroll Tax Forms
    .
  2. Select the client from the
    Client
    dropdown.
  3. Select
    Corrected
    from the
    Form type
    dropdown, then select
    1099
    from the
    Form
    dropdown.
  4. Select the form you need to correct from the
    Originally Filed Form
    field.
  5. Select the year of the form to correct, then select
    Refresh
    . Select a copy to display from the
    Form
    dropdown.
  6. In the
    Recipient Selection
    tab, select the recipients in the Available Recipients pane that need corrected forms, then select
    Select
    to add them to the Selected Recipients pane.
  7. Select
    Original E-file Information
    , which can be accessed from the
    Original – Recipient Data
    tab or the
    Corrected – Recipient Data
    tab. This is the required information needed to file a corrected electronic 1099 file:
    • ID
      - This displays the ID for each 1099 recipient selected for correction.
    • Recipient Name
      - This displays the name of each 1099 recipient selected for correction.
    • Receipt ID
      – Currently this information isn't available in Accounting CS. To get this ID, refer to the instructions here.
    • Submission ID
      – This ID can be found in the previously accepted 1099 file being corrected. The value is typically 1.
    • Record ID
      – This ID can be found in the previously accepted 1099 file being corrected. The value is unique to each recipient in the file.

Find the Submission ID and Record ID for 1099s being corrected, which were previously accepted in Accounting CS

  1. Select
    Action
    , then
    Process Electronic Forms
    .
  2. Select
    Manage Electronic Forms
    .
  3. Select the 1099 file then select
    Preview Selected
    .
    • The Submission ID value is near the top of the 1099 preview.
    • In the Recipient Detail section of the preview, the Record ID value is associated with the recipients that are being corrected.
note
If you're correcting a recipient that has already been corrected, the Receipt ID, Submission ID, and Record ID information will need to be from the latest accepted file for this recipient.
