Upload an additional 1099 to IRS FIRE for a client

Follow these steps to upload an additional 1099 for a client after you've uploaded a batch of 1099s to IRS Filing Information Returns Electronically (FIRE).
  1. Select
    Actions
    , then
    Process Internet/Magnetic Files
    .
  2. Select
    Manage Files
    .
  3. Mark the
    Complete
    checkbox for the file you previously uploaded.
  4. Select
    Actions
    , then
    Edit Payroll Tax Forms
    .
  5. Select the 1099 form and year.
  6. Select the
    Recipient Data
    tab.
  7. Clear all vendors except the one you need to submit.
  8. Select
    File
    , then
    Process Client Forms
    .
  9. Clear the
    Print All Recipients
    checkbox. Select the forms you need to process.
  10. Select
    Yes
    to the message
    EIN – Name’ already exists in the file for the jurisdiction “US” and the collation item of ‘1099-XX Copy A”, which has been completed. Would you like to process the client for a new file?
    . Select
    Yes
    again for the Form 1096 message.
  11. Process the selected form. Select
    Filing Copy
    when printing.
  12. Select
    Actions
    , then
    Process Internet/Magnetic Files
    to create the new file.
