AdvanceFlow Office Client Add-in update to version 23.5

An updated version of the AdvanceFlow Office Client Add-in is available. Make sure to download and install the latest version from the
Setup
, then
Downloads
page inside of AdvanceFlow. The primary reason for the update is to correct an issue when switching the focus from a text variable in an Excel document to a formula would cause the period and year fields not to be available in the toolbar. It is also critical that the add-in is on a recent version for a November release of AdvanceFlow to avoid any issue with the new TR accounts sign-in process.

We recommend that you install the latest version of the AdvanceFlow Office Client Add-in with this release. GoFileRoom and AdvanceFlow support the current, and 1 prior version of the Office Client Add-In. If your firm experiences any issues, verify your users have the latest version of the AdvanceFlow Office Client Add-In installed.

AdvanceFlow Client Communications

Introducing Client Communications, the latest feature that will let auditors send and track document or information requests to their clients from AdvanceFlow. Avoid signing into multiple applications and tracking down emails. Simplify the process and save time with a safe, integrated communication tool. Requesting client information has never been easier.
Key capabilities:
As an Assurance professional, you can:
  • Send and receive document requests to/from clients for preparation of the audit or to follow up on your questions.
  • Communicate via comments with your clients and monitor the status of your requests in real time.
  • Upload sample documents to show how a request should be completed.
  • Preview and save received documents in your audit workpapers and set document properties for rollforward.
Current customers can simply sign into AdvanceFlow to get started. The new, time-saving feature is available at no extra cost.

Locked and unlocked Checkpoint Engage documents or engagements

AdvanceFlow users that don’t have Checkpoint Engage credentials entered in user preferences or are not licensed for a particular title can still right click on individual documents and lock/unlock them after reviewing them.
Entire engagements that are linked to Checkpoint Engage can be finalized or unfinalized by users without Checkpoint Engage credentials. This enables administrative tasks or reviewers looking at only the previews to still be able to lock a document after signoff or finalize engagements.

Refocused Checkpoint Engage documents

When a Checkpoint Engage document is opened, and you try to open the same checkpoint document for editing again, the already opened document is brought to the front. This prevents another copy of the same document from opening for editing. The goal is to prevent the wrong copy of the document from being saved, and changes from being lost from one of the documents.

Issues resolved

  • When replacing a placeholder, the description text on the placeholder is used for the document instead of the file name of the uploaded document.
  • When multiple accounts are selected in the trial balance, and you left-click on one of the already selected accounts, the single account will be selected. The other previously selected accounts will be deselected.
  • An issue is selected when you have some documents selected on the workpapers tab, and you try to add a workpaper from an existing engagement, some documents would appear preselected in the list of documents.
  • Changes can no longer be made to the Consolidation setup screen when an engagement is finalized. Also, the Consolidate option in the Data menu is not available on finalized engagements.
  • Hover text is restored to the folder names on the workpapers tab of the engagement.
  • When selecting between a text type engagement link and a formula type engagement link in an Excel document, the period and year fields remain available for change on the cells with the formula engagement link.
  • The zoom level in the preview pane on the workpapers tab of the engagement is stored across all documents and engagements for each user.
