Authoring improvements

  • Ability to add a new row to the top of the File Download component. This saves our authors time when authoring our file download and Alerts and notices micro experiences. Prior to this release, an author had to drag the newly created row all the way to the top of the component... some of these experiences have more than 100 rows!

Form and e-file approval status in UltraTax CS

  • We made some changes to get better analytics for how people use the UltraTax CS forms approval micro experience. This includes most common selections from the return type and agency selections and search queries performed.
  • We modified the placeholder text in the selection fields.
  • We applied Saffron styling to align with the rest of Help and Support.

IPX (in-app help) improvements

  • We removed 'Show more' if there's less than 5 articles in the Articles for you section of the in-app help menu.
  • We extended the number of products listed in the ONESOURCE help menu drop-down from 5 - 8.

Readability improvements

  • We removed colons at the end of all note types. This article has an example of a note. A colon can pause an reader's focus, and even the slightest pause added to all other content and text on the page, can slow down the fluidity of reading.
  • We added padding (also known as spacing) to the <msgblock> element. This is an example article. Prior to this release, the article title and the error message were very close together.
  • We moved email and copy article buttons to the bottom of articles. The most important element on a page is the article title, followed by the body of the article. With email and copy functions being secondary to the rest of the elements on the page, we removed them from such a high-level of importance. Go to an example article.

Saffronizing our experience

We continue our trek in aligning with our Saffron design system. In this release we:
  • Applied Saffron styling to the <userinput> element to improve readability. The <userinput> element represents text written instructions ask you to input into a field.
  • Updated the Saffron version.
note
Saffron's a system of design standards and reusable elements to help us build user experiences that look, feel, and behave more consistently. This helps Thomson Reuters look unified across our digital experiences and products.
