NetFirm CS setup for the Thomson Reuters Account

important
If you currently use your NetStaff CS account to sign-in to your CS Professional Suite desktop applications, you must first access netlinksolution.com and migrate your existing NetStaff CS account to a Thomson Reuters Account before accessing your desktop applications.

What changes should you expect from NetFirm CS (including NetStaff CS and NetClient CS)?

  • Multiple NetStaff CS and/or NetClient CS accounts
. A different Thomson Reuters account is needed if the same person needs to access NetStaff CS and NetClient CS. If you only have one email address, consider using an alias.
  • NetStaff CS linked accounts
. Existing accounts that are setup as linked will continue to work as is. The ability to add new linked accounts will no longer be supported. If you do need multiple separate NetFirm CS logins, you will need to create multiple Thomson Reuters accounts. If you only have one email address, consider using an alias.
  • New user account creation
. The Single user – manual notification user creation option has been removed because you are no longer able to set the user’s password.
  • Microsoft Exchange accounts with ActiveSync
. Existing accounts with ActiveSync enabled will continue to work as is. Your Microsoft Exchange password and Thomson Reuters Account password however will no longer be linked. For users with existing Microsoft Exchange accounts and a new Thomson Reuters Account, you will continue to use the same password for both until your Microsoft Exchange account password expires. You will be notified ahead of time when your Microsoft Exchange password is about to expire. For users who have a Thomson Reuters Account and enable a Microsoft Exchange account with ActiveSync when a Thomson Reuters Account, email instructions will be sent to the user on how to set up ActiveSync based on their device preferences.
  • Managing your account
. To edit your account details, select
    Manage your Thomson Reuters Account
from the name drop down. Within the Thomson Reuters Account, you can change your email address, password and manage your two-factor authentication options.
  • Report updates
. Some reports will no longer be supported after the launch of the new sign-in experience. This is temporary and will be updated soon to reflect the recent changes that will come.
  • Access to other employees NetStaff CS accounts (if terminated, for example)
. If the firm needs to gain access of a portal of an employee who is no longer with your firm, please ask the Firm Licensee to contact Support.
    Internal use only
The customer needs to go through the following steps to accomplish this:
    1. Create a Gmail account (ex: myfirm@gmail.com) that can be used for the sole purpose of accessing the portals of those users who are no longer employed by your firm. You could then create an alias version of that address (ex: myfirm+employeename1@gmail.com)
    2. Tell support who that alias should belong to, then we can update the email address on that account and allow you to login with that alias email.
    3. Once logged in, that portal would be accessible via the alias email and you could launch apps as the user who is no longer employed.
    4. For this option, a TRTA SNOW ticket would need to be entered to allow the Firm Licensee to overtake the account. Please follow the same process as password resets for verification purposes.
