Print pension and IRA distributions on Form 1040, line 4a
If the pension or IRA distribution income is fully taxable, the system leaves Form 1040 or 1040-SR, line 4a, and line 4c blank. Follow these steps if you want to always print the total pension or IRA distribution income.
- SelectSetup,1040 Individual, then selectOther Return Options.
- In theOther Return Optionswindow on theReturn Presentationtab, check thePrint total pension and IRA distributions if not requiredcheckbox.noteThis option applies to all 1040 clients and takes immediate effect on any client you subsequently work with.
