Inside the GenAI Power Network: How Thomson Reuters Is Building the Center of Professional AI

Joel Hron  Chief Technology Officer, Thomson Reuters

In 2025, across the legal, tax, and corporate markets, and through groundbreaking research from TR Labs, Thomson Reuters expanded its partnerships with leading technology companies and academic institutions. These collaborations are shaping a connected, professional-grade AI ecosystem grounded in trust, expertise, and responsible innovation.

Partnerships have always been central to how Thomson Reuters drives progress, but in 2025 they reached a new level of scale and impact. By combining the ingenuity of frontier AI providers with our trusted content, domain expertise, and global reach, we are creating a network of innovation that connects and strengthens the industries we serve. And this is only the beginning.

Expanding the Legal AI Ecosystem

In the legal sector, our partnerships are transforming how professionals access knowledge, prepare cases, and manage information at scale.

With DeepJudge, we are bringing enterprise search powered by GenAI into CoCounsel Legal, allowing firms to uncover insights within their own documents using the same intelligence that powers our legal research platforms.

Through our collaboration with Supio, we integrated its CaseAware AI into the Thomson Reuters ecosystem to help U.S. personal injury law firms automate case preparation, reduce review time, and improve accuracy and outcomes.

By joining NetDocuments’ ndConnect program, we made CoCounsel Legal’s AI capabilities available directly within one of the legal industry’s most trusted document management systems. Lawyers can now use AI-driven insights in the environment where their work already happens.

Together, these partnerships are expanding CoCounsel Legal into a hub of applied AI, combining the speed of emerging legal technology with the reliability and scale of Thomson Reuters. And as we continue to collaborate with innovators in this space, we are setting the standard for what intelligent legal work will look like in the years ahead.

Building the Future of Trusted AI in Tax and Audit

For tax professionals, we deepened partnerships designed to strengthen trust and accelerate transformation.

Working alongside innovators including Trullion, Audit Sight, Crunchafi, Fieldguide, Validis, and Valid8 Financial, we are embedding AI-driven automation directly into core audit workflows. These integrations enhance Cloud Audit Suite and Audit Intelligence while maintaining the standards of accuracy and transparency that define the profession.

Together, these partnerships are modernizing PPC methodology and bringing professional rigor into the next generation of intelligent systems. They ensure that human expertise and AI work side by side to deliver clarity, efficiency, and confidence.

This foundation sets the stage for even greater innovation in 2026, as we continue to expand the boundaries of what trusted AI can achieve in professional services.

Strengthening AI Solutions for Corporations

In our corporates segment, 2025 marked a breakthrough year for applied AI partnerships that drive accuracy, compliance, and insight across global enterprises.

Our collaboration with Accenture and Icertis introduced AI-powered contract intelligence for connected business operations. This partnership integrates CoCounsel Legal and Icertis Contract Intelligence through Accenture’s implementation capabilities, enabling organizations to automate contract review, streamline compliance, and turn complex data into strategic insight.

With SAP, we expanded our partnership through ONESOURCE ESG Reporting powered by Control Tower, now available on the SAP Store. The solution connects Thomson Reuters trusted regulatory data with SAP’s enterprise systems, helping finance and compliance leaders manage ESG reporting with accuracy and transparency.

We also deepened our partnership with Ledgible to simplify digital asset tax reporting for businesses. Together, we are helping companies meet the new IRS Form 1099-DA requirements through automated, professional-grade workflows designed for scale and precision.

These collaborations are redefining how corporations integrate AI into everyday decision-making and compliance management. As our corporate ecosystem continues to grow, we are creating the connective layer that will define how enterprise AI operates in the years ahead.

Advancing Foundational AI Research with TR Labs and Imperial College London

2025 also marked a milestone in our investment in foundational AI research. Through TR Labs, we launched the Frontier AI Lab in partnership with Imperial College London, one of the world’s leading research institutions.

The Frontier AI Lab focuses on advancing the science of trustworthy, scalable, and responsible AI. Together, researchers from TR Labs and Imperial College London are studying safer model training, efficient evaluation, and the long-term societal impact of autonomous systems.

This partnership extends our ecosystem beyond applied solutions and into discovery. It demonstrates how Thomson Reuters is contributing to both the science and the practice of professional-grade AI, building the foundation for continued leadership in research and innovation.

A Connected Ecosystem Built for Scale

Across every segment, the story is the same: 2025 was not the culmination of our AI strategy, but the beginning of something much bigger.

Thomson Reuters brings the trusted data, domain expertise, and customer reach that turn ideas into transformative solutions. Our partners bring speed, creativity, and specialized technology. Together, we are creating a connected, global ecosystem where professionals can trust, deploy, and benefit from AI with confidence.

As we move into 2026, we will continue to build on this momentum. More partners, more integrations, and more innovation will follow, all connected by a shared goal: to define what trustworthy, professional-grade AI looks like in practice, and to make it real for the people who depend on it every day.
