Thomson Reuters 2025 Social Impact Highlights: What We Achieved Together

In 2025, the Thomson Reuters Social Impact, Government Affairs & ESG teams helped strengthen communities where we live and work through skills-based volunteering, community partnerships, and technology that advances justice. The highlights below reflect our key achievements over the past year, the people behind them, and our commitment to creating lasting, positive impact.

Together for Good: Skills-Based Volunteering and Community Service

Our colleagues came together to create meaningful change through the power of service. Our fifth annual Social Impact Sprint saw 165 employees lend their expertise as pro bono consultants to 40 nonprofits across six countries, contributing 1,392 hours of skilled support valued at over $306,240. Building on this spirit of impact, during our annual Global Volunteer Day, teammates dedicated over 8,200 volunteer hours to support more than 100 nonprofit organizations in 20 countries. To end the year, employees in Minnesota and Texas collected 650 toys for children in their communities. These efforts reflect our shared commitment to using our time and talent to make a lasting difference.

Technology with Purpose: Data, Training, and Research to Advance Justice

We expanded our human trafficking training efforts, hosting two panels to help employees understand various forms of human trafficking and how Thomson Reuters utilizes data and technology to support global anti-trafficking efforts. We also partnered with Thomson Reuters Special Services on a report to uncover unique insights into the disappearances and trafficking of Indigenous peoples in Canada. In addition, we helped fund groundbreaking research by the International Justice Mission exploring the intersection of two emerging global threats in Southeast Asia: the financially motivated sextortion of children and forced scamming operations.

Partnering for Progress: Rule of Law, AI in Courts, and Long-Term Collaboration

In 2025, we marked 20 years of partnership with Lawyers Without Borders to advance the rule of law. By combining their grassroots legal expertise with our people, technology, and publishing capabilities, this collaboration has delivered training, tools, and resources to legal professionals and communities in more than 10 countries—including training 1,000+ legal professionals and reaching 35,000 households in Kenya.

The Thomson Reuters Institute and the National Center for State Courts continued their joint AI Policy Consortium for Law and Courts, helping judicial leaders navigate opportunities, risks, and responsible adoption of AI (including generative AI). The consortium aims to support ethical, effective integration of AI across the U.S. court system. A November webinar focused on AI literacy attracted nearly 6,000 registrants.

As we reflect on 2025, these milestones underscore the power of collaboration, innovation, and purpose-driven action. We’re proud of the colleagues and partners who helped advance justice, strengthen communities, and support more sustainable corporate citizenship in 2025—and we’ll continue building on that momentum in the year ahead.
