Blackadders selects Thomson Reuters to automate Client Matter Inception
LONDON – Thomson Reuters today announced that Blackadders Solicitors, a Scotland-based law firm providing legal, property and wealth management advice to individual and business clients, has selected the FloSuite Legal Client Matter Inception module (CMI) to automate the management of new client and matter inception.
Successfully managing client matter inception is a critical component of any business strategy and is the first process a firm engages when creating a new client or matter in their case management system. In addition, market developments such as new regulatory rules and compliance requirements mean firms now give serious consideration to the potential risks posed to their business when taking on new clients.
Blackadders will use FloSuite Legal’s CMI module to help reduce its average file opening time, allowing it to incept new business more quickly and to eliminate the duplication of effort associated with a manual inception process. The CMI module also mitigates risk for the Firm through anti-money laundering and conflict of interest checks.
In addition to client matter inception, FloSuite Legal meets a range of legal and non-legal business management needs, including; case management, business process management, workflow and task automation, and enterprise application integration. FloSuite Legal is built on a flexible development framework, giving organisations the ability to configure workflow processes that meet their unique needs, and that can be easily adapted as the firm evolves. It also integrates with a firm’s existing legacy business systems, allowing in-house IT teams to create a core systems ‘hub’; helping to reduce maintenance and license fee costs associated with managing disparate systems, and requiring a single skill set to manage the BPM infrastructure.
“The flexibility of the FloSuite Legal solution is a key factor in Blackadders’ decision to select Thomson Reuters,” said Barry Bostoff, legal software consultant, Thomson Reuters. ”Not only are we able to help automate their new business intake, but we can do so by seamlessly integrating the new module with their existing legacy systems.”
“Our move to an automated process for new matter inception is part of Blackadders’ wider strategy of investing in the latest, cost-effective information technologies to improve our operational efficiency,” said Graham Thoms, IT director, Blackadders Solicitors. “FloSuite Legal’s CMI module will give us a greater degree of efficiency for a fundamental process within our firm, allowing us to grow our business in a more profitable way, and spend more time focused on the needs of our clients.”
