Thomson Reuters Executive Recognized on List of Most Powerful Women in Accounting

DEXTER, Mich. – CPA Practice Advisor has recognized Jean Rakich on its 2014 list of the 25 Most Powerful Women in Accounting for the third consecutive year.

Jean Rakich, Director of Training, Consulting & Implementation Services with the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters, has been with the organization for over eight years. In this role, she is responsible for the delivery of training, consulting, and technical assistance services to a large customer base of accountants and accounting firms. Rakich has expanded Thomson Reuters online offerings, new custom training options, and strengthened the company’s focus on customer service and thought leadership. Her tenure has brought dramatic growth and expansion to the department. It has also created countless opportunities for tax and accounting professionals.

“I am honored to receive this award and to be listed among such a powerful group of women,” Rakich said. “There are many opportunities for women in the accounting profession, and I hope this list helps inspire both current and future accounting professionals.”

The annual Most Powerful Women in Accounting Awards began in 2012 when CPA Practice Advisor sought to recognize women who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession. The 2014 honorees were chosen based on how they demonstrate true leadership and commitment, along with their professional contributions and initiatives, leadership, and community involvement. The awards were announced and presented at The Sleeter Group’s 2014 Accounting Solutions Conference, held November 9 through 12 this year at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
