Thomson Reuters Executive Recognized on List of Most Powerful Women in Accounting

DEXTER – Thomson Reuters Jean Rakich has been named one of the most powerful women in accounting for the fourth consecutive year by CPA Practice Advisor for her role in supporting professional development both within the Thomson Reuters Tax and Accounting business, and the accounting profession as a whole.

Rakich is the director of training, consulting, and implementation services, and has a passion for professional development through innovation. Over the past nine years, she has expanded the business’ online offerings, developed new custom training options, and strengthened the focus on customer service and thought leadership, creating countless professional and business growth opportunities for the profession. Jean is also an active member of the Customer Excellence (CX) squad that focuses on improving customer interaction at all touchpoints in the organization. In the last year she’s supported an innovation initiative across the company, by leading business professionals through innovation workshops that provide an environment for employees to explore innovation methods, share their ideas, and conduct lean experimentation exercises that help guide decisions around business strategy within the business.

“I am honored to receive this award and to be listed among such a powerful group of women,” Rakich said. “There are many opportunities for women in the accounting profession, and I hope this list helps to inspire both current and future accounting professionals.”

The annual “Most Powerful Women in Accounting Awards” began in 2012 when CPA Practice Advisor sought to recognize women who have made significant contributions to the accounting profession. The 2015 honorees were selected based on their demonstration of true leadership and commitment and their professional contributions and initiatives, leadership, and community involvement. The awards were announced and presented at The Sleeter Group’s 2015 Accounting Solutions Conference, held November 16-19 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
