London – Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading source of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, announced today that it will be running the Global Sports Forum for Thomson Reuters Eikon Messenger users throughout the 2015 Rugby World Cup. The Forum, the world’s first online sports forum for the financial and professional services industries, will feature news, scoring updates, commentary, interviews and discussion blogs during the World Cup, including commentary from Reuters reporters and editors.

The Global Sports Forum, one of several editorial forums run by Thomson Reuters, is open to anyone with an Eikon Messenger account, which is available standalone free of charge or through Thomson Reuters Eikon. It will go live on 7 September 2015, eleven days prior to the official start of the World Cup on 18 September.

“The Global Sports Forum combines Eikon Messenger’s open network and ease of use with the expertise of Reuters, giving financial professionals a place to interact and share insights around one of the world’s largest sporting events,” said Yvette Jackson, global head of collaboration services at Thomson Reuters.  “Together with the other forums we host on Eikon Messenger, it offers an exclusive venue for financial professionals from around the world to become informed on topical issues and events while interacting and networking with peers.”

Global Sports Forum participants are eligible for various prizes during the tournament.

Thomson Reuters editorial forums provide users with insights across a number of regions, industries, and asset classes. Individual forums are moderated by Reuters News reporters and editors to ensure that conversation is both informative and relevant. While forums are designed to be interactive, users do have the option of participating with read-only access.
