James Corden to Host Thomson Reuters SYNERGY 2020
The Late Late Show host joins the annual conference that boasts education, training, best practice sharing and celebration of tax and accounting professionals
DALLAS, Oct. 19, 2020 – James Corden will bring his comedic talents to Thomson Reuters SYNERGY 2020 this year. The company today announced that he will host the annual user conference, with the sessions for tax and accounting professionals taking place Tuesday to Friday, Nov. 10-13 and the Legal Tracker sessions for legal professionals taking place Wednesday to Friday, Nov. 11-13. In order to observe safety best practices during the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s conference will take place virtually.
Corden will kick off the opening sessions of each conference track with monologues recorded from Los Angeles. He’ll also have daily welcome messages letting attendees know what they can expect from the days ahead and detail the programming and features they can take advantage of in addition to the educational sessions.
“We are pleased to share that James Corden is hosting SYNERGY this year,” said Brian Peccarelli, chief operating officer, Customer Markets, Thomson Reuters. “Our team is working hard to create a virtual experience at the caliber that our attendees expect from SYNERGY. While we are disappointed that we won’t be able to gather in person, we are committed to delivering an educational and fun week for our customers.”
In addition to fun with James Corden, the virtual setting will give attendees the opportunity for workshops and in-depth learning on products for all tax and accounting professionals such as Checkpoint Edge, ONESOURCE, Practice Forward, GoSystems Tax and Legal Tracker. Attendees will have the opportunity to earn up to 36 CPE credits throughout the week, double the amount typically available at SYNERGY.
Breakout sessions throughout the conference will focus on a variety of topics, including in-depth looks at products and their uses, discussions centered around hot issues like Brexit and the COVID-19 pandemic and the implications for the tax and accounting space, and how professionals can help small businesses during the recession with advisory services. Additional details on the agenda, sessions and speakers are on the event’s website.
“This has been an interesting and challenging year for our profession. From the extended tax deadline, the COVID-19 recession and the unprecedented need for accountants to help small businesses, we have seen a great deal of change in how we work,” said Charlotte Rushton, president of the Tax & Accounting Professionals segment of Thomson Reuters. “At this year’s SYNERGY, we will be discussing these changes and how professionals can meet these challenges to help their clients through these tough times.”
There also will be many new virtual offerings and activities to enhance the conference experience for attendees, including a virtual experience zone, virtual exhibit floor and virtual fitness classes to keep everyone active and engaged. Winners of the 2020 Luca, Taxologist and Cheetah awards will be announced during the week as well.
Registration is open to both customers and non-customers. New this year is a preview track that provides access to select keynotes and exhibits for single attendees with no charge. Additional packages for full conference access and CPE credits begin at $950 for single staff attendees and go up to $2,950 for up to 10 firm attendees.
Additional information and to register, attendees can visit the SYNERGY 2020 registration page.
