Get to know the Thomson Reuters Pride at Work Network

Welcome to our forum that aims to foster the inclusion and advancement of our Pride at Work talent as well as to celebrate diversity across the community and culture of the organization.

Overview of the Pride at Work Network

The Pride at Work Network is an employee-led business resource group (BRG), which is strongly committed to creating awareness and understanding of the diverse backgrounds and experiences represented at Thomson Reuters.

Our mission is to create a safe and inclusive workplace while remaining aligned with Thomson Reuters business objectives, those of our customers and external partners, and the wider community of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, asexual, pansexual and other gender and sexual minority communities, friends and allies.

With an organization as vast and matrixed as Thomson Reuters, being in touch with employees across different functions can enable a better understanding of how the company works.

As one member of the Minneapolis St Paul chapter said, “Pride at Work has long been a place where I can find community, support and insight beyond my immediate team”.

We offer global programs and local events that are open to everyone at Thomson Reuters.

Throughout the global pandemic, the way in which all the business resource groups had to communicate changed drastically, with virtual becoming the ‘new normal’.

This, however, allowed Pride at Work chapters across the world to come together in a way that hadn’t been explored fully beforehand, with online discussions/meetings being held. These included talks, on a variety of topics, with members of the executive team within Thomson Reuters getting involved and external speakers ranging from a member the UK’s House of Lords, LGBTQIAP+ Veterans charities and the world of Formula One racing, all to engage, inspire and encourage.

Navigating different continents and their differing time zones, the Pride Month global social media campaigns over the past couple of years #ConnectWithPride (2021), #ComingOutAtTR (2022), and #BeProudAtTR (2023) gave the opportunity for our LGBTQIAP+ colleagues and allies to share their stories and experiences.

Today, our flexible hybrid environment of both in-person and virtual events gives chapters an exciting opportunity to collaborate across global locations and extend the reach of their efforts. Past events include panel discussions, leadership seminars, career-focused workshops, volunteer activities, cultural explorations, happy hours and so much more.

Throughout the Month of June, we also amend the company ellipsis logo from the recognized orange to the Thomson Reuters Pride logo. This uses a graduated rainbow effect, to ensure that it fully represents the support for the groups that come under the LGBTQIAP+ ‘banner’ and is used both internally and externally for anything Pride-related each June, in place of the standard logo on the company website, social media and of course, Pride events wherever they are being held.
